Tarantallegra hit #1 on Japan’s iTunes Chart

On May 18th, CJES Entertainment revealed, “XIA’s first solo album has taken the #1 spot on Japan’s Itunes. What is even more surprising it that he surpassed Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber to receive the #1 spot, proving XIA’s massive popularity in Japan.”

Pre-orders for ‘Tarantallegra’ grabbed first place at Tower Records Japan as soon as the release date of Junsu’s album was announced earlier this month, and the album completely sold out on the day of its release. Junsu’s solo album also snagged the #1 spot for sales in Japan’s Rakuten and Amazon site.

A music official from Japan stated, “After the explosive amount of pre-order sales, the album is now becoming a scarcity. This is even more surprising because Junsu has not had any activities in Japan lately.

A representative of CJES Entertainment said, “Japan’s response towards XIA’s first album is really hot. The Japanese public has been looking forward to Junsu’s music and performances, I think it is because of Junsu’s solid fan base in Japan. Another reason why this album is gaining so much popularity is because it’s compelling in that it attempts to be exceptional and sensational at the same time. It’s just a well-made album derived from Junsu’s own skill.

In related news, ‘Tarantallegra’ is also running short in stock on Korean online sites, and gaining many favorable reviews.

JYJ & Gong Hyo Jin Nintendo Mario Kart Commercial

Jaejoong being as clumsy as ever haha!  He seems very comfortable with Hyo Jin.  In case you don’t watch a lot of dramas, she is an actress who has been in many dramas and movie spanning more than ten years.  I recommend The Greatest Love (MBC 2011 drama of the year).

Press for Dr Jin

Jaejoong is starting his new drama in about a week.  Again, he isn’t the lead but I think this is a good thing for him, since he’s also writing for the OST and also is filming a movie.   I think he’s being very smart about his acting career and getting more experience before taking a leading role.  What do you think?

Junsu’s New Music Video for Tarantallegra is Finally Here

** Update: Over 1 Million Views onYouTube – Junsu, you’re amazing!

I have the video on autoplay to help the video get to the front page of YouTube (this takes you to the official JYJ channel video – please don’t watch it on other channels).  I’ll turn off the autoplay when the views reach 1 million today, Tuesday May 15th).

My thoughts:

  1. This video is really well done, theatrical and captivating!  It went by so fast for me. which is a sign that I wasn’t distracted from the plot.
  2. The choreography really fits the theme and Junsu does a great job (in my opinion, better than the back up dancers, so crisp and sharp).  Jeri Slaughter did the choreography so many of the dancers will look familiar since they were in the North America showcase and concert tour stops and JYJ’s first Seoul showcase.
  3. Love his smirk at the end of the video… says it all!
  4. I’m not a fan of autotune but it’s popular these days I guess.  The thing that bothers me is people who may be introduced to Junsu for the first time with this video won’t know that he has an amazing voice without autotune, and might think parts are autotuned when they aren’t.
  5. I’m glad that Junsu had Flowsik do the rap part.  I really like his voice.  I saw on his Twitter that he wasn’t able to film his part in the video so it’s someone else.
  6. All you fans who will get to see him perform live in his upcoming concert tour are so lucky!

Go Junsu!

Everybody keep playing it so it rises to the top!

What JYJ Were Doing in 2004

Below is a performance at one of the year end music award shows.  While many mock their outfits, they were for the Tri-Angle theme (from the music video) which I enjoyed because Jaejoong showed a little skin haha!   Can you spot some of their current JYJ dancers in this video?

Earlier in the year, they had a cute and adorable boyfriend theme with Hi Ya Ya. Hard to believe 8 years have passed (they were still teenagers here).
